Isle sur la Sorgue, Provence | English-speaking Nanny | February March 2026
A friendly family, well known to the agency and for whom we have placed two nannies, is looking for an English-speaking nanny to join them from mid-February 2026.
The family is composed of two parents and two young boys. The eldest is 6 years old and is enrolled in the final year of nursery school. The younger, aged 3, is enrolled in the first year of nursery school.
A French-speaking tutor comes for a few hours per week to help the eldest with completing his homework and learning to read in French.
The hours during school weeks will be as follows:
On Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, the nanny will start work at 3:30 pm with a visit to the family home to prepare the evening activities, review the meal prepared by the housekeeper, check the playroom / tidying up, prepare the pyjamas for after the bath, etc. The aim for the family is to be fully operational afterwards when the nanny picks up the children at 4:30 pm and that she is then dedicated only to the children until the evening.
One of the parents is often available from 7 pm to take over.
Wednesdays: 8:30 am – 7 pm: during the day, one of the parents looks after one of the children if they need to go to an activity while the other child goes to another activity with the nanny.
Two babysitting evenings during the week (excluding weekends) are included, but will rarely be used.
Saturdays: 8:30 am – 1 pm
Given that the nanny does not resume work until 3:30 pm on Monday, despite working on Saturday morning, she has 48 consecutive hours of rest.
The hours during school holiday weeks will be as follows:
Monday to Friday: 8:30 am – 7 pm
During the holidays, the nanny looks after both children on her own. However, everything is done to ensure things run smoothly. For example, on Wednesday, the father takes the eldest to his English class at 9 am and waits for him until 9:45 am. It is also the father who takes him to his BMX class from 10 am to 11 am. The nanny then takes the younger child to the BMX class which starts at 11 am and at that time picks up the eldest to bring him back home. The father attends the younger child’s class and then brings him back home where he joins his brother. They have lunch together. In the afternoon, the mother picks up the eldest around 3 pm for his handball class, while the younger child goes to the media library with the nanny. At the end of the handball class, the mother drops the eldest off at the media library with the nanny and his brother. The idea is always that the boys have the most pleasant schedule possible. Another example: on Monday, the nanny picks up both boys and looks after them until 5:30 pm. At that point, the nanny drops the eldest off at his English class and returns home with the younger child. The father picks him up at the end of his class and brings him home. In this example, the aim is to avoid the younger child having to get back into the car unnecessarily, especially if he is engaged in an activity with his nanny.
Profile and responsibilities of the nanny:
From a very young age, English-speaking nannies have been employed. Consequently, the family wishes to continue with this arrangement. The nanny will speak only English to the children.
The nanny must have a team spirit and work alongside both parents.
A full-time housekeeper who takes care of household maintenance and the family’s cooking, including for the children, is employed. The nanny is not responsible for any domestic tasks.
It is essential that the nanny is a driver. An automatic car is provided, both during working hours and at weekends. Fuel is also paid for.
The nanny will be required to accompany the family on holidays.
In winter, the family spends one week skiing. The nanny will have her own studio not far from the hotel where the family is staying. The opportunity to ski at the end of the day with a ski instructor will be offered.
In summer, 3 weeks are spent in Corsica. The family generally asks the nanny to accompany them for a maximum of 2 weeks. The first week of the holidays is spent with the family only.
The nanny is entitled to 5 weeks of paid leave per year. The parents are quite flexible regarding the nanny’s paid leave. They always try to coordinate as best as possible jointly with the nanny. The nanny is asked to avoid taking more than two consecutive weeks of holiday.
The salary offered is €3,500 if the nanny has her own accommodation, and €3,200 if the family needs to rent a studio for the nanny in the village.
Please note that only candidate who hold an EU passport or already have the right to work in France (work permit) will be considered.
