A warm and professional young couple based in Harare, Zimbabwe, is seeking an experienced, native English-speaking maternity nurse to support them following the birth of their first baby, for a 6-month booking.

The baby is due end of May / early June 2026, and some flexibility around the start dates will be required.

Both parents are very busy professionals and are therefore looking for a highly experienced, reliable, calm, and proactive maternity nurse who can confidently take the lead in newborn care while offering gentle guidance and reassurance to first-time parents.

The parents have chosen to keep the baby's gender a surprise, which must be fully respected.

The mother will give birth in London before returning to Zimbabwe, where the role will be based.

She plans to breastfeed, so the maternity nurse must be extremely knowledgeable and supportive of breastfeeding, including latch support, feeding schedules, and troubleshooting common challenges.

Postpartum recovery is a significant concern for the mother; therefore, the family is seeking a kind, quiet, nurturing, and emotionally supportive maternity nurse with a strong understanding of postnatal care and maternal wellbeing.

Duties:

·       Full newborn care from birth onwards

·       Establishing healthy routines for feeding, sleeping, and settling

·       Breastfeeding support and education

·       Monitoring baby's development and wellbeing

·       Supporting the mother's physical and emotional postpartum recovery

·       Sterilising bottles and equipment (if required)

·       Maintaining a calm, hygienic, and organised baby environment

·       Offering guidance and reassurance to first-time parents

·       Working independently while communicating clearly with the parents

Working Hours:

24 hours per day, 6 days per week (24/6)

Accommodation:

In Zimbabwe, the family lives in a secure gated community on a compound.

The family has kindly offered a private, independent studio flat on the compound, allowing the maternity nurse to rest during her daily 4-hour break and on her day off.

When on duty, the maternity nurse will share the baby's room.

Travel:

The family will not be travelling during the placement.

Salary:

£500 per 24 hours worked

Other requirements:

For visa reasons, a South African passport holder is strongly preferred.

Previous international experience within UHNW families required.

At the client’s request, only candidates with a strong academic background will be considered.
